(Somalistandard) – Manchester City secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Fulham to reclaim the top spot in the Premier League standings.
The match saw Erling Haaland make history by scoring his 50th goal of the season in all competitions, becoming the first player in the top-flight to achieve this feat since Tom ‘Pongo’ Waring did so for Aston Villa in 1931. H
aaland also equalled the Premier League record for most goals in a season, with 34, which was previously held by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole.
Despite Haaland’s early penalty goal, Fulham managed to pull level with a Carlos Vinicius strike in the 15th minute. However, Manchester City regained their lead before halftime through a stunning long-range effort from Julian Alvarez.
The hosts held on to secure a vital three points, moving them above Arsenal in the league standings with a game in hand.
