Mogadishu (Somalistandard) – The Somali government has announced it evacuated 27 Somalis who had fled the ongoing conflict in  the Sudanese capital of Khartoum

The evacuees, including four women, were reportedly transported to Ethiopia after crossing the  border town of Metema.

According to an official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, thousands of Somalis,  including students and businessmen, are currently stranded in Sudan, where they are at risk of being  killed due to the ongoing conflict.

The conflict in Sudan is pitting between Abdel Fattah Burhan, the head of the armed forces, and  Gen. Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, the commander of RSF.

The situation in Sudan has become increasingly volatile, with other countries evacuating their  citizens early on.

Despite the Ethiopian government allowing Somalis to enter the country, many remain stuck on the  border between Sudan and Ethiopia.

The Somali government has stated that it is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its  citizens both at home and abroad, and this latest action is a testament to that commitment.
