Kampala – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Friday for a  tripartite meeting with the leaders of Ethiopia and Italy.

The leaders of the three countries are discussing mutual cooperation and unification of plans in  diplomatic, economic, and security relations.

The focus of the meeting is to find solutions to the problems faced by Somalia, Ethiopia, and Italy,  and to strengthen regional cooperation.

President Mohamud and his delegation will present the views of the federal government of Somalia  on the future of traditional relations between Somalia, Italy, and Ethiopia.

They will also highlight the efforts of the Somali government in the fight against terrorism and the  achievements made in the liberation of areas from extremist groups.

This new partnership between the three countries marks a fresh beginning, and the world awaits  information on how they plan to implement their joint efforts.

Previously, Somalia had a tripartite partnership with Ethiopia and Eritrea, which ended when  Somalia’s former president, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, transferred power.

The meeting in Addis Ababa is seen as an important step towards strengthening diplomatic,  economic, and security ties between the three nations.

It is expected that the discussions will result in concrete plans for enhanced cooperation and  collaboration in various areas of mutual interest, including trade, security, and regional stability.

The leaders of the three countries are also expected to exchange views on regional and international  issues of common concern, such as the fight against terrorism, illegal migration, and climate change.

The outcome of this tripartite meeting is anticipated to have a significant impact on the future  relations and cooperation among Somalia, Ethiopia, and Italy.

The development comes at a critical time for Somalia, as the country continues to face challenges  such as terrorism, insecurity, and political instability.

The federal government of Somalia, under the leadership of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has  been making efforts to address these issues and strengthen governance and security institutions in  the country. This tripartite meeting is seen as a positive step towards achieving these goals and  promoting stability and development in the region.

The leaders of Somalia, Ethiopia, and Italy are expected to issue a joint statement at the conclusion  of the meeting, outlining the outcomes and commitments reached during the discussions.
